Creating connection through creative writing
We're all creative, and we all have stories to share. I'm here to help you tell them.
This is where the story begins…
I'm Liam. I’m a Liverpool-based freelance content writer, creative writing facilitator, and someone who’s never been able to put the pen down.
My early memories of writing aren't of homework or essays. They're of making magazines at my grandparents’ house, or writing short stories on a Saturday morning, and submitting to writing magazines as a teenager. I even have two Blue Peter badges for writing poetry (true story!). Writing has never been a chore - it’s where I go to play.
Storytelling is our natural mode of communication. It’s fundamental to our human experience, and writing’s a joyful part of that. It helps us explore the world, make sense of our imagination, and gives the ideas in our heads somewhere to live. It opens us up to new perspectives, new worlds, new versions of ourselves that we didn't know could exist.
The more that we stay connected to our creativity and nurture it, rather than letting it go quiet, the more enriched our time on this planet will feel.
Writing has given me all of that, and I'm on a mission to share it.
Workshops, retreats, events and freelance content writing
Everything I do starts with the belief that writing brings people together.
Creative writing experiences
We're all storytellers. Every single one of us. We all have experiences, perspectives, and moments worth sharing. Every idea and every conversation you have is the beginning of a new story.
Whether you're looking for a creative outlet, have a team in need of a reset, or are organising an event that feels like something’s missing, I create spaces where people can come together, be unapologetically creative, and leave feeling better for it.
Creativity is already inside all of us. Through writing prompts, a safe, warm environment (where there's no right or wrong), and community, I make it easier to access that part of yourself.
People leave my events feeling lighter, clearer, and often genuinely surprised by what came out of them. They rediscover parts of themselves they'd set aside and find connection with people they'd only just met.
I run my own workshops, events, and retreat days throughout the year, and I'm also available to be booked as a facilitator for yours. Find out more about creative writing workshops for teams, or get in touch to discuss booking me for your event.

Creative writing with a side of steak?
This Creative Writing Dinner Club is about coming together around a shared table with good food, good conversation, and creativity woven through the evening. Hosted at Hawksmoor Liverpool.
If you’ve ever felt like creativity gets pushed to the bottom of the list, this evening is about making space for it again without needing to call yourself a writer or know what you’re doing before you arrive.
Throughout the evening, you’ll be guided through creative writing prompts inspired by the venue, the food, and the people you’re sharing the table with.
You’ll write independently, but within a collective atmosphere, chatting, listening, exchanging ideas, and dipping in and out of conversation as the evening unfolds. There’s no experience needed, and no pressure to share your writing (unless you want to).
Your ticket includes:
A three-course, family-style private dining experience
Guided creative writing prompts inspired by the setting, food, and group
Space to write freely, get inspired, and share ideas
Time to eat, chat, and connect with new people over dinner and creativity

Whatever happened to that creative spark?
You get busy, routines take over, suddenly you’re bogged down in ‘life’ and that masterpiece you always said you were going to write has been banished to the depths of your subconscious, destined to never make it past being a fleeting thought in the shower.
But why should it be? Creativity isn’t a luxury - it’s an outlet. It’s something we all need more of. A way to express, release frustration, process thoughts, and bring a little more colour to everyday life.
Our monthly Creative Writing Club is a relaxed, welcoming space to get those words out and express yourself. Whether you’ve been writing for years or have never put pen to paper before. You don’t need to be a writer or have any experience, just a curiosity to explore where your creativity can take you.
Your ticket includes:
Your first drink (tea, coffee, or a soft drink)
A welcoming writing session with guided prompts and warm-up exercises
Space to write freely, get inspired, share ideas and receive feedback (if you want to)
Support to get you writing and embracing your creativity
A whole month of daily writing prompts to take away and keep you going
Access to a supportive community of fellow writers
Creativity shouldn’t be something we grow out of or don’t make time for.
Join us between 6-8pm with your pen and notebook (or your laptop), your ideas, an open mind, and reconnect with that spark.
Participants aged 16+ welcome. Those under 18 will need to be accompanied by someone over 18.
Please note that this is an in-person event. Please email hello@liammarshall.co.uk to discuss accessibility requirements.

A day to write, reflect, and reset
When life gets busy, creativity has a habit of retreating into the cave, waiting quietly for the moment it’s needed again.
The Creative Reset is that moment.
A one-day writing retreat designed to help you coax your creativity back into the light, dust it off, and let it breathe. You’ll spend the day writing, wandering, reflecting, and remembering what it feels like when ideas move freely again.
It’s not about performance or pressure. Just space, curiosity, and a little spark of imagination to take home with you.
Your ticket includes:
Morning pastries and fruit on arrival
Guided creative writing sessions throughout the day
A gentle, poetry-inspired walk through Calderstones Park
A 60-minute creative workshop from a special guest speaker
A buffet lunch
Afternoon cakes
Unlimited tea and coffee
A goodie bag to take home and keep the inspiration going
This day is designed around its attendees - the writing, the pace, even the little details. The earlier you book, the sooner I can shape it with you in mind.
Please note that this is an in-person event.
Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal payment options are available at checkout.

Freelance content writing
Good content doesn’t just fill space or please algorithms. It builds connections with the people you're trying to reach, and does it consistently enough that they care about your business.
I work with businesses as a freelance content writer, delivering long-form content like blogs, articles, case studies, whitepapers, and emails that warm leads, support sales cycles, and keep your brand top of mind long after someone clicks away.
What makes me different to other content writers is that I sit between two worlds. The creative writing world helps me find the story, shape the voice, and make people feel something. The marketing strategy world makes sure that the right story is told with clarity, consistency, and purpose.
The result is content that feels human and does its job.
Brands I’ve worked with…
Let’s share stories
Whether you're looking for a content writer, a creative writing experience, or you're just not sure yet, I'm always happy to have a conversation.
